Helping Wynyard RSL improve facilities

27-Oct-2017

Local veterans and the wider Wynyard community will benefit from a grant to improve facilities at the Wynyard RSL.

Liberal Senator for Tasmania Stephen Parry today announced that the RSL Sub-Branch will receive $26,365 Federal Government funding to upgrade furniture and improve safety and comfort for the veteran community.

“The funding will come through the Veteran and Community Grants programme, which supports projects that will improve the quality of life for veterans,” Senator Parry said.

“I congratulate Sub-Branch President Trevor Duniam for the efforts of Wynyard RSL in supporting our community and local veterans.”

“Projects funded through the grants programme are an important way we honour the service and sacrifice of the men and women who defend our nation and our values.”

Ex-service and community organisations, veteran groups and private organisations that contribute to the health and welfare of the veteran community are encouraged to apply for funding through the DVA Veteran and Community Grants programme.
